Seattle - Pearl Jam

No Fim de Semana passado tive em Seattle. Fui visitar a cidade e ver o concerto dos Pearl Jam na Key Arena.
Estou apenas a espera de obter as fotos do FDS, para as postar aqui, no entanto ficam desde ja duas amostras.
Adorei Seattle!!! Mais ate do que gostei de Boston ou outras cidades que ja visitei por aqui. (tirando NYC claro!!)

Sim, ele continua em LA e a novidade 'e ele ser Prof na UCLA. Isto esta cada vez melhor eheheheh ;) MAs ja me confirmaram que nao sera o ataque as undergrads, mas so as Grad Syudents ahahahah.
Desde Maio que andam a filmar no Campus e ja dei de caras com as filmagens algumas vezes (Kerckoff, Powell Library e Royce Hall)...mas ainda nao tive o privilegio (!1???! lol) de ver o Hank Moody.

Estou sentado no Literati Cafe em Brentwood, rodeado de "gente" bonita.
A minha frente,um RED VELVET cupcake, um Mojito e um Review Paper de Liver Regeneration.
Ao meu lado a Supriya (amiga residente de cirurgia), prepara a primeira remocao de vesicula biliar que vai fazer amanha.
Na Jukebox(?) do cafe comeca a dar esta musica e 'e ai que estupidamente me bate: I AM FUC....Living in California.....MAN...!!! LOLOL Estupidez!

Chegou a epoca dos fogos aqui a volta de LA. Desta vez estao mais perto do que nunca e fortissimos. Estao a Norte e a Nordeste da cidade. Estao a poucas milhas de downtown e ha milhares de pessoas a serem evacuadas e casas a arder.
Esta foto foi tirada de Marina Del Rey, mesmo ao lado do Aeroporto a na zona oeste da cidade. Para quem ja esteve aqui, fica perto de onde surfamos!!!

Hoje, o motivo 'e um carro estacionado no Federal Building (para quem ja me visitou 'e o edificio branco que fica no inicio de Westwood e muito perto da minha antiga casa). O carro parou aqui depois de uma perseguicao e pelos vistos esta envolvido numa ameaca terrorista a casa branca.....lol!
Na foto ve-se um robo a investigar o carro ainda com o ocupante la dentro.

Dialogo - Gran Torino

Fiquei muito impressionado com os dialogos do filme. Nao o consigo explicar bem. Talvez seja o "smart juggling" de estereotipos/preconceitos ao longo do filme que na minha opiniao retrata tao bem esta sociedade tao racialmente e culturalmente complexa.

Walt and Sue drive in silence. Finally Sue speaks up.

SUE
So, what's with you, you have some
sort of savior complex or
something?

WALT
What in the hell's the matter with
you? I thought all you Asian
girls were supposed to be so
smart. What are you doing walking
around in that neighborhood?
That's how you end up in the

SUE

Walt looks at her for a second. She's not ruffled at

SUE

WALT

SUE

WALT
Right. Hmong. What is a... where
is Hmong or whatever?
Sue laughs.

SUE
Wow! You're so enlightened.
Hmong isn't a place, it's a

SUE

WALT
Whatever.

SUE
Blame the Lutherans. They brought
us here.

WALT
Still, you'd think the cold would
keep all the assholes away.
Sue laughs again at Walt's conscienceless racism. (Muito BOM)

WALT
Sure... You know, you seem okay.
What the hell's the matter with
your half-wit brother? He a
little slow or something?

It's really common. Hmong girls
